India has approved a $46m project by giving the green light to 16 drug production applications under the Production Linked Incentive scheme. The government has ordered the setting up and commercial production of the 16 projects to commence immediately.

The Indian government’s ministry of chemicals and fertilisers has approved 16 drug production applications under the Production Linked Incentive scheme which was introduced by India’s department of pharmaceuticals to promote the domestic manufacturing of critical key starting materials, intermediates and active pharmaceutical ingredients in India by attracting large investments in the sector.
