Sandoz To Close Barcelona Plant Under Antibiotics Manufacturing Revamp

Novartis Division Also Reveals Plans For Expansion

Sandoz has shed some light on how it intends to invest €150m into its European antibiotics manufacturing network, while announcing the closure of a plant in Spain to remain “cost-competitive on the global market.”

Sandoz has announced plans to close one manufacturing facility and expand another in Spain, while pressing on with expansion work at its vertically-integrated Kundl manufacturing site in Austria, as the Novartis division restructures its antibiotic manufacturing setup in Europe amid “fierce competition from Asia.”
