Sawai Pharmaceutical, one of the major Japanese generics firms, is aiming to grow its business steadily with a value-centric strategy, while also seeking to rebuild group company Upsher-Smith Laboratories in the US. 

Last year, the firm also established a new company after acquiring a large manufacturing site from domestic competitor Kobayashi Kako, which decided to terminate its business after a product contamination incident
