Coherus Shrugs Off Missing Ranibizumab Pre-Filled Syringe – For Now

Launch Of Dominant Ranibizumab Presentation Planned But Timeline Uncertain

Coherus BioSciences had much to say during its second-quarter earnings call in the wake of USFDA approval for its Bioeq-partnered Cimerli biosimilar to Roche’s Lucentis.

Launching only the vial presentation of a biosimilar to Roche’s Lucentis (ranibizumab), and not the dominant pre-filled syringe, will not be a “major impediment to adoption,” Coherus BioSciences has claimed, as it gears up to introduce its Cimerli (ranibizumab-eqrn) biosimilar with an interchangeability designation later this year.

“When doctors want to use a product, they will use it whether it’s a vial or a pre-filled syringe,” Coherus’ chief commercial officer Paul Reider has insisted,
