State Sign-On Process Still To Play Out As Teva ‘Optimistic’ Of High Participation Rate

Teva has announced a finalized nationwide settlement over its long-running opioids litigation, signalling the start of a sign-on process for individual states, subdivisions and special districts. The company remains optimistic of a high participation rate.

After addressing long-running opioids litigation in the US through a series of individual state-level settlements followed by a nationwide agreement in principle worth $4.35bn, Teva has now announced that it has finalized documentation over the deal with both the working group of states’ attorneys general and the multi-district litigation plaintiffs’ executive committee.

However the process is not over, as the milestone of the finalized deal serves to kick off a sign-on process...
