TELECTRONICS META DDDR 1256 PACER SLATED FOR LAUNCH WITHIN A MONTH; ST. JUDE'S $115 MIL. ACQUISITION DOES NOT INCLUDE ACCUFIX, ENCOR LEAD LIABILITY

Telectronics' Meta DDDR 1256 dual chamber, rate responsive bradycardia pacing line is expected to be launched in the U.S. within the next month, St. Jude says. The device incorporates Telectronics' "minute ventilation" physiologic sensor and "automatic mode switching" technologies. St. Jude highlighted the technologies in announcing its $115 mil. acquisition of Telectronics' ailing pacemaker business from parent company Pacific Dunlop Oct. 23.
