HHS/OIG Recommends DMERCs Quantify Identified Overpayments For DME

Medicare's Durable Medical Equipment Regional Carrier (DMERC) fraud units should track data on the amount of overpayment dollars "collected, written off, or pending" in order to establish the effectiveness of their efforts, the HHS Office of Inspector General recommends in a March 13 report.
