Silicone Gel-Filled Breast Implant 69% Rupture Rate Found In FDA Study

Magnetic resonance imaging examination of 344 women with silicone gel-filled breast implants in a recent FDA study showed 69% having at least one ruptured device. However, the high rupture rate found in the study relates to older-model implants and results may not be relevant to current generation devices, according to implant maker Inamed.
