Not All PET Systems Are Equal: CMS Rejects Gamma Camera Coverage

Gamma cameras must have a crystal thickness of at least 5/8 inches to continue receiving Medicare reimbursement for PET indications covered prior to December 2000, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (formerly HCFA) states in a June 29 decision.
