Arrow International announces Aug. 1 an agreement to supply intra-aortic balloon pumps, balloon catheters and accessories to national healthcare alliances VHA and the University Health System Consortium through group purchasing organization Novation. Separately, Masimo teams with GPO Consorta in a dual-source agreement allowing for "a dramatic expansion in the reach of Masimo technology to new healthcare facilities that previously had only one choice for pulse oximetry." In March, Masimo achieved a $420 mil. legal victory over Tyco/Nellcor, whose hospital contracts were found by a Los Angeles federal court to be exclusive and anticompetitive (1"The Gray Sheet" March 28, 2005, p. 11)...
