Stryker structural changes: Orthopedic firm appointed Lonny J. Carpenter to the newly created position of group president for Global Quality and Operations Sept. 1. Before the move, Carpenter, a 20-veteran with Stryker, was group president of Instruments and Medical. In the new post, he will set and execute company-wide strategy for quality, manufacture, procurement and logistics. Concurrently, the company is giving Timothy J. Scannell additional leadership responsibility for the Instruments and Medical divisions and changing his title from group president of Spine and Endoscopy to group president of MedSurg and Spine. Further, Stryker announced the promotion of Michael P. Mogul from president to group president of the orthopedics unit, with added responsibilities for the global trauma and craniomaxillofacial businesses
