Feds Investigate Off-Label ICD Reimbursement

Another potentially relevant factor in off-guideline ICD use is whether Medicare is paying for the procedure and whether the payment is appropriate under current coverage policies. The Department of Justice is investigating inappropriate Medicare reimbursement for ICDs, and this study could at minimum provide momentum to that effort, an industry analyst suggests.
