The latest moves by movers and shakers in the medical device and diagnostics industries.

Orthopedic device firm says President, CEO and Chairman Stephen P. MacMillan is resigning for family reasons, effective Feb. 8. MacMillan joined Stryker in 2003 as president and chief operating officer, and became CEO in January 2005. (See Also see "Bear Stearns Healthcare Conference In Brief" - Medtech Insight, 27 September, 2004..) The company has named Curt Hartman, VP and chief financial officer, as interim CEO and William U. Parfet, lead independent director, as non-executive chairman while the board searches for a permanent successor to MacMillan, considering both internal and external candidates.
