HHS Will Delay ICD-10 Coding Expansion, Citing Provider Burden

The government will push back its October 2013 compliance date for switching from ICD-9 to the much-expanded ICD-10 reimbursement codes in response to providers’ arguments that near-term transition would disrupt care. The device industry supports a quicker move to ICD-10.
