Senate Finance Committee Spars Over EHR Meaningful Use Timing

A July 24 hearing provides jabs from senators and witnesses over pace of meaningful-use stage-two timing. The second stage of meaningful use requirements take force in October 2013 for hospitals, and January 2014 for all eligible professionals.

The Senate Finance Committee convened a hearing July 24 to address the administration’s proposed timeline for stage two of electronic medical record meaningful use requirements.

The hearing featured witnesses from the private sector, complementing the hearing July 17 with administration officials. (See [A#14130717004].)
