, a group of 35 House GOP freshmen led by Rep. Luke Messer, R-Ind., urged House leaders to pass a bill by Rep. Erik Paulsen, R-Minn., to repeal the device tax as part of a larger tax reform measure. The bill, which was introduced in February by Paulsen, had 259 bipartisan cosponsors as of Aug. 1, the letter said. (See Also see "News In Brief" - Medtech Insight, 11 February, 2013..) The group states that House Ways and Means Chairman Dave Camp, R-Mich., “has repeatedly identified the medical device tax repeal as something that he expects to include in tax reform.” However, any final tax reform bill must be a joint effort by both the House Ways and Means committee and the Senate Finance Committee
