Michael D. Lesh, MD, an interventional electrophysiologist, has a long-time interest in atrial fibrillation. Three years ago, he founded Atrionix Inc. , which is currently in clinical trials with a catheter-based device for treating certain kinds of atrial fibrillation patients. Lesh has published more than 200 papers on cardiac arrhythmias and is currently the director of the atrial arrhythmia center at the University of California, San Francisco .
