JRI to offer Active Implant's hip system in UK

Memphis, Tennessee-based Active Implants is to see its TriboFit polymer actebular system distributed in the UK through an exclusive agreement with Joint Replacement Instrumentation (JRI). Sheffield-based JRI will market the CE-marked TriboFit alongside its Furlong H-AC hip stem. The company will also manufacture some of the components of the TriboFit hip system, under the terms of the agreement. According to Active Implants, the TriboFit is the only soft bearing articular product available in the market. It uses a low-wear, polycarbonate-urethane material, called the Buffer, that has a similar elasticity to human cartilage, while being as durable as titanium.
