Wound Technology Network (WTN) is to team up with communications group AT&T to provide bed-bound chronic wound patients with constant, remote monitoring and other healthcare services. Under the terms of the two-year agreement, WTN, which specialises in establishing physician-based telehealth networks for wound management, is to equip its clinical staff across South Florida and Southern California with AT&T's HTC Fuze "smart" mobile devices when providing care in patient's homes. The devices enable the staff to consult with wound care specialists at WTN's telehealth centres. The HTC Fuze can capture images of the patient's wounds and transmit the information to the wound care specialists, who will then fax it to the patient's primary care physician.
