Mallinckrodt clinches exclusive deal for non-magnetic infusion pump:

Mallinckrodt, the St Louis, Missouri-based imaging, respiratory and pharmaceutical division of Tyco Healthcare, is to exclusively distribute in the US, Canada and Mexico what it claims to be the "only truly" non-magnetic infusion pump on the market. The MRidium intravenous pump, developed by Winter Park, Florida-based IRadimed, uses an ultrasonic ceramic motor, which means the pump will not be affected by the strong magnetic field present in an MRI scanning environment. Details of the distribution deal were not disclosed.
