Abbott broadens lab automation offering with Inpeco:

Abbott Laboratories' diagnostics business has teamed up with Inpeco, of Milan, Italy, to increase its ability to provide customised automation solutions for its laboratory customers. Abbott will have non-exclusive rights to distribute and market Inpeco's lab automation equipment worldwide, and will also be able to incorporate new Inpeco technologies into future systems. The two companies will create interfaces between Inpeco's modular automation components and Abbott's Architect and Cell-Dyn analysers, using open architecture to give customers maximum flexibility.
