Viasys Healthcare, of Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, has agreed to buy Micro Medical in its second UK acquisition this month. It will pay $39m for the firm, which makes spirometers for measuring lung capacity using turbine technology that ensures accuracy regardless of altitude or air pressure. Its products are used in primary care to diagnose and monitor asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and bronchitis.
