Hansen buys MI (minimally invasive) surgery and robotic assets from endoVia:

Mountain View, California-based Hansen Medical, which specialises in controlling catheter movement during therapeutic procedures, has acquired a portfolio of intellectual property assets from endoVia Medical, of Norwood, Massachusetts. The 33 issued and pending patents relate mainly to minimally invasive surgery and surgical robotics. endoVia's technology was invented by scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and doctors at the Boston University Medical Center's department of surgery. Hansen's system is being developed initially for use in electrophysiology and interventional cardiology.
