Medtronic (Minneapolis, Minnesota) has completed its acquisition of Palo Alto, California firm TransVascular, which is developing catheter technology that may enable localised drug delivery in the vascular system. Medtronic plans to move Transvascular's operations to its own facility in Santa Rosa, California, where they will be integrated into Medtronic Vascular's coronary and peripheral divisions (see Clinica No 1070, p 10).
