Medtronic expands its Swiss operations:

Medtronic is to invest around $31 million to expand its European headquarters and production sites in Tolochenaz, Switzerland. The expansion, which will create 200 new jobs by 2006, will more than double the production capacity of the site, as well as increasing administrative and training functions, Medtronic says. Medtronic opened its European headquarters in 1997, following an investment of $37 million. It currently has around 340 employees at the site.
