Bivona Medical joins the Smiths Medical stable

A leading US supplier of silicone tubes use in anaesthesia and critical care, Bivona Medical Technologies (Gary, Indiana), has been acquired by the UK's Smiths Medical. The company, part of London-based Smiths Group, paid $35.6 million to Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics for the company, which will expand Smiths' range of single-use devices with new product and material technologies. It also boosts the company's position in the paediatric devices market.
