Picker International (US) has received US FDA clearance for its Outlook MRI system which it introduced at last year's Radiology Society of North America (RSNA) meeting (see Clinica No 634, p 18). The 0.23T system's open design offers "unprecedented patient accessibility", says Picker. It features phased-array head, body and surface coils. The faster shielded gradients with 12mT/m peak and 20mT/m/ms rise time allow fast spin echo, magnetisation transfer contrast and 2D and 3D time of flight MR angio.
