Symmetry Medical has agreed to acquire the surgical instruments business of Johnson & Johnson subsidiary Codman & Shurtleff for $165m in cash. Symmetry will integrate Codman's products with its current direct hospital business, Specialty Surgical Instrumentation (SSi); the combined business will be renamed Symmetry Surgical.
