Teleflex has promoted Thomas Powell to senior vice-president and chief financial officer. He replaces Richard (Randy) Meier, whose departure from the company on 9 March has been described by Morgan Stanley analyst David Lewis as "sudden, but not scary". Mr Lewis wrote in a research note that Mr Meier's resignation is likely to come as a surprise to some investors, but it is not a refection of "a negative guidance trend or any other accounting irregularity". Instead, it may be that Mr Meier had sought a greater operating role at Teleflex but this did not materialise for various reasons. "Once this decision had been reached, a parting was inevitable," wrote the Morgan Stanley analyst.
