J&J’s hip suit hit less painful than initially rumored

Johnson & Johnson has announced that its DePuy Orthopaedics business is paying around $2.5bn to settle lawsuits related to the highly publicized recall of its ASR hip implants. This amount, while significant, should be a less painful blow for the healthcare giant than the $4bn it was rumored to be paying, according to media reports last week.
