Lawmakers Question FDA On Medical Device Cybersecurity Concerns

Top lawmakers on the House Energy and Commerce Committee wrote to US FDA asking what the agency is doing to ensure devices are protected against malicious hackers.

Cybersecurity has become a growing concern in the medical device industry over the past year and now it has caught the attention of lawmakers on Capitol Hill. Reps. Diana DeGette, D-Colo., and Susan Brooks, R-Ind., wrote a letter to FDA Nov. 3 to ask its leadership what steps they were taking to address the concerns.
