FDA Urges Caution On Surgical Robots For Off-Label Women’s Cancer Treatments

US FDA put out a special alert Feb. 28 underscoring that robotically-assisted surgical devices have not been approved for use in cancer treatment surgery such as mastectomies. The notice urges physicians and patients to carefully weigh the risks and alternatives before performing such procedures.
