French secretary of state for economy and finance Agnès Pannier-Runacher has more than one reason to value the innovative capacity of medtech start-ups, SMEs and larger groups. One is that the continual development of future-facing innovation boosts the economy – spending on medtech in France has grown at an annual rate of 5% for the past several years, she says, and that will continue, given the aging population.
