Just months after ending his tenure as chair of the medical device lobby group AdvaMed, Nadim Yared is the new chair of the Medical Device Innovation Consortium, a highly influential public-private partnership that has helped the US Food and Drug Administration develop new regulations.
Yared, who is also CEO of the small medical device company CVRx Inc., ended his tenure as chair of AdvaMed in April where the main issues he lobbied for were repeal of the 2.3% medical device excise tax and reimbursement hurdles. Over the next two years as chair of MDIC, his focus will turn more to regulations and the FDA’s regulatory pathway.
