COVID-19 headwinds had a major negative impact on global medtech revenues this year, and Siemens Healthineers AG, reporting on its year ending on 30 September, was more exposed than most as it unveiled its 2019-20 results today.
CEO Bernd Montag spoke of challenging year, but also reported pride in US business achievements, a record level of order bookings for medtech equipment in the fourth quarter, and the promise of new business expansion in 2021 following shareholder approval on 15 October of the Varian Medical Systems, Inc. acquisition.
