Medtronic Launches CGM-Integrated Smart Insulin Pen For Multiple Daily Injections

The announcement follows Medtronic’s acquisition of Companion Medical, which developed the first FDA-cleared insulin smart pen.

Three months after Medtronic plc announced the acquisition of insulin-pen maker Companion Medical as part of its efforts to bolster its diabetes business, it is getting ready to launch the InPen and integrate it with its Guardian Connect continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system.

Customers that have the InPen and Guardian Connect can integrate the two starting 12 November by downloading the newest version of the InPen app, Pamela Reese, Medtronic’s director of global communications told Medtech Insight
