Smile Train, a nonprofit organization and that provides free corrective cleft surgery in 87 countries with more than 1,000 partner surgeons, and its long-time technology partner, Biodigital Inc., recently launched a new mobile app to bring its 3D-based virtual surgical training simulator to doctors in even the most remote areas.
“Cleft-lip and palate is the most common birth defect affecting the face,” said Roberto Flores, medical director of the Virtual Surgery Simulator who is also the director of cleft lip and palate and director of the plastic surgery craniofacial fellowship program at NYU Grossman School of Medicine
