Notified Bodies Group: New Euro AI Regs Could Cause Undue Burdens

The European medical devices notified bodies association says a proposed rule published earlier in the year risks forcing manufacturers, regulators and notified bodies to duplicate their work.

The European Association for Medical devices of Notified Bodies (TEAM-NB) says the European Commission (EC) should reconsider a proposed regulation that risks duplicating regulatory requirements for artificial intelligence products.

The European Commission in April proposed a broad regulation, “Laying Down Harmonized Rules on Artificial Intelligence,” also known as the Artificial Intelligence Act (AIA)
