The NHS will now pay for the Libre 3 system as part of its NHS Supply Chain Network.

Abbott ’s FreeStyle Libre 3 continuous glucose monitoring system is now available to eligible patients in the UK thanks to its listing on the NHS Supply Chain Network, the company announced 15 March.

The Libre 3, which is approved for up to 14 days of continuous monitoring, is roughly the size of a £1 coin (two stacked US pennies), making it 70% smaller than the older Libre 2, and the smallest CGM approved in the UK. FreeStyle Libre 3 earned a CE Mark in late 2020
