Beyond Lockdown: The Digitization Of Chinese Hospitals Continues Apace

The recent COVID-19 lockdown in Shanghai caused widespread disruption locally and an economic slowdown for China. But it did not interrupt the ongoing digitization of health care, the value of which was once again thrown into sharp relief, writes news and analysis portal Omdia.

To the relief of all, Shanghai lifted on 1 June the lockdown measures it had imposed two months earlier as part of its “Zero-COVID” response to renewed coronavirus threats. The action was implemented to prevent wider spread of COVID-19. As it happened, the ending of restrictions on personal movement, working and travel for Shanghai’s 25 million population actually came two weeks ahead of schedule.
