Device industry giant Johnson & Johnson is asking the US Supreme Court to weigh in on the California laws that lead to a $300m judgment against the company in a pelvic mesh product liability case.

Then-California Attorney General Xavier Becerra filed suit against J&J subsidiary Ethicon in 2019, alleging that the company had violated the state’s unfair competition and false advertising laws by misleading physicians and patients about the full risks of pelvic mesh
