Payment Schemes For Innovative Medtech Exist In Just 8 European Countries - Report

Innovative medtech products should receive reimbursement based on the value they add to the health care system, but just eight European countries offer funding pathways at present, analysis by MedTech Europe and Med Tech Reimbursement Consulting shows.

There are significant disparities in patient access to innovative medical devices and diagnostics within Europe, according to a report by trade association MedTech Europe and Med Tech Reimbursement Consulting (MTRC).

Of 32 countries analyzed, only eight have introduced innovative payment schemes for medical technologies, which includes digital tech, IVDs, medical devices and procedures
