MHRA Wins £168k Funding Grant For AI Medtech Integration Project

The UK’s medtech regulator has been vocal in recent months on its ambition to better utilize AI-enabled medical devices in its health system. This vision is now a step closer to becoming a reality, as the MHRA has secured almost £168k in funding to advance its AI medtech delivery.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) will receive £167.9k ($203.8k) for the project, which aims to address ways to safely introduce complex “black-box” AI products into clinical settings, according to a statement on 19 December.
