The European Commission’s newly-launched Cancer Imaging Initiative will see sophisticated digital technologies based on artificial intelligence used to speed up medical innovations as part of its wider Beating Cancer Plan.

On 23 January, the European Commission announced plans to use artificial intelligence (AI) to beat cancer by speeding up medical innovation and research. Its Cancer Imaging Initiative, part of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan, will see the power of AI and high-performance computers harnessed to better understand and treat the disease.
