Cook Medical, the privately held manufacturer of minimally invasive devices for about 60 different specialties, plans to lay off about 500 people worldwide – about 4% of its workforce – as part of a new five-year vision and strategic plan.

The US Medicare agency will hold three public meetings in June and July addressing tremor treatment devices and clinical diagnostic lab tests.
