Stakeholders have an additional 15 days to comment on the US Environmental Protection Agency’s proposed new rules for commercial sterilizers using ethylene oxide, the EPA announced on 25 May. The deadline has been moved from 12 June to 27 June.
The EPA explained that it extended the comment period in response to requests from state and local governments, as well as industry groups. Multiple state medtech associations, as well as national association AdvaMed, had asked for an extended comment period during EPA public hearings in early May
