Council Of EU Develops European Health Data Space Mandate To Kick Off Trilogue Negotiations

The Council of the EU has issued a mandate that addresses concerns with patient data autonomy and data localization within the EHDS regulation proposal. It introduces the concepts of data space steering groups and a member state biennial activity report.

The Council of the EU has agreed on a mandate to begin negotiations with the European Parliament on the European Health Data Space regulation proposal. Trilogues, including the European Commission, are expected to start this month, with parliament aiming to finalize its position by 13 December before a final review by the Council of the EU.
