Apple Drops Pulse Oximeter Features To Subvert Import Ban

But a court of appeals ruling has put the ban back in effect.

After a short import ban, Apple is modifying its watches to remove the pulse oximetry technology that was ruled to violate several Masimo patents.

US Customs and Border Protection will allow Apple to import its Series 9 and Ultra 2 Watches with a software update to remove their pulse oximetry technology.

The Exclusion Order Enforcement Branch of CBP announced the ruling 12 January and said that the updated watches would fall...
