Better Business Bureau's National Advertising Division finds that pharmaceutical prescriber database promotions citing "superior accuracy" and "most precise measure of each prescriber's writing activity" are substantiated, IMS reports Aug. 6. IMS' claims had been challenged by Walsh America, which has a competing prescriber database. NAD recommended that IMS change its claim that Xponent, which uses Monte Carlo simulations, "is 50% more accurate than the other service" to "Xponent is 50% more accurate than zone-type methods."
