SCHERING-PLOUGH CLARITIN-D ANTIHISTAMINE/DECONGESTANT COMBO, approved by FDA Nov. 14, combines 5 mg loratadine and 120 mg of pseudoephedrine sulfate in a twice-daily tablet for prescription relief of seasonal allergic rhinitis with congestion. Schering-Plough is aiming to have the product on pharmacy shelves nationwide "within two weeks," the company said Nov. 15. Promotional materials are in development and under review by FDA, Schering-Plough said. Claritin is heavily promoted directly to consumers.
